Litigation Associate (3–5 Years) – New York City
Friedman & Anspach is a six-attorney New York City litigation firm focused on union-side labor law and ERISA matters. We represent labor unions and the trustees of multiemployer pension and health funds in a wide range of matters, including federal court litigation.
We are seeking a litigation associate with 3–5 years of experience to join our practice.
Responsibilities
- Manage federal court litigation from early stages through resolution
- Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment
- Manage complex discovery and take/defend depositions
- Represent clients in arbitrations and administrative proceedings
- Advise union clients and employee benefit funds
Requirements
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on litigation experience, including in federal court
- Experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions under the FRCP
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Admission to the New York Bar
Preferred (Not Required)
- ERISA or labor/employment experience
- Candidates with strong federal court litigation experience who are interested in developing expertise in this area are encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Benefits
- $130,000–$160,000, based on experience
- Fully paid health insurance (including dental)
